BB Blocks - documenting a new LIFE!
A friend at work gave me the sweetest gift yesterday: BB Blocks!
As it turns out, her sister is behind the cuteness of these blocks to document how many weeks, months, and years your baby is! You can even use them for pregnancy photos… or anything else you would like to document by date!!
I had already thought of doing the “sticker on the onesie” documenting our little baby boy’s age in months… buteverybodydoes this… so I am SO happy to have something SO CUTE and different to use!
They are perfect for a newborn gift, baby shower or even mothers day!

Happy documenting :)

38 WEEKS!
How Far Along: 38 Weeks! 2 weeks and counting… he better make his debut on or before that due date!!!
But honestly, I still cannot believe it. It feels like I’ve been pregnant for a long time- but it has gone by SO fast. I feel like I’m at the 1/2 way point (but thank God I’m not!).
Size of baby: He’s the size of a Pumpkin! :-)

Total Weight Gain: 29 Pounds as of this morning.
Gender: Perfect baby BOY!!!!
Movement: He’s currently stuck in my hip.
Sleep: I completely jinxed myself last week by saying sleep was good. Last night was ROUGH… as in heartburn, peeing every 5 minutes, and tossing and turning. I hate all of our pillows.
What I miss: Sleep. Working out/running.
Cravings: Nothing really except water
Symptoms: Small amount of swelling in hands and feet. Not bad because I can still wearmy wedding rings. Peeing every 5 minutes, exhaustion, back aches, calf aches, head aches… pretty much anything that ends in “aches”.
Maternity Clothes: Bought nursing bras and tanks from the maternity store. It was awful. I spent 3 hours trying every size and style on - only settling on a couple of bras because I had to have them for the hospital. They are NOT comfortable… so in the meantime while baby S decides to stay put, I will be searching for other stores that sell nursing bras and tanks. If I can’t find anything, I will be designing my own and opening a store because this is ridiculous!
Best Moment this week: Sunday morning, hands down. I slept like a champ, and then got breakfast in bed (blueberry muffins and fruit smoothie)!! We watched TV in bed for a few minutes, before I got sleepy again and slept for another 2 HOURS all snuggled with my sweet hubby. While he showered, I then slept for another HOUR - and woke up becausehe had snuck back into bed and smelled delish.
Finally around 11:45 AM (unheard of!) we took a LONG walk around the neighbor hood “Project: INDUCE LABOR!” and ate lunch together. It was the pefect morning - exactly how I want to spend these last few weeks (days?!) with just the two of us. Perfection. And nothing but LOVE.

Male nesting
Fabyan putting together the seat & swing… He did SUCH a good job for not being a “handy man” :) At least I think he did a good job. I better wait until we see the baby in them.
But he looked pretty cute putting it all together.

Heres to hoping I can get my body back after I deliver!

Instead of saying “I don’t have time” try saying “it’s not a priority,” and see how that feels. Often, that’s a perfectly adequate explanation. I have time to iron my sheets, I just don’t want to. But other things are harder. Try it: “I’m not going to edit your résumé, sweetie, because it’s not a priority.” “I don’t go to the doctor because my health is not a priority.” If these phrases don’t sit well, that’s the point. Changing our language reminds us that time is a choice. If we don’t like how we’re spending an hour, we can choose differently. Fascinating Wall Street Journal Article on being busy

As of today…
Baby has “dropped” into position
I’m 1 cm dilated
75% effaced
And PATIENTLY WAITING on our little man to make his entrance into this world!
“A few more weeks” from my doctor brought me back down to reality….
Online Shopping Spree
It would be easier to name the things I DIDN’T buy today… but I’m going to share a few items:
This Elephant Pouf by Serena & Lily. The same place I got our crib bedding. I am obsessed!! Pouf’s range in price depending on quality-and usually fall into the $400 range… This pouf is $395 On sale for $159 and until April 22nd take an additional 30% off!! It is the PERFECT pouf for the baby to play with/on, and for hubby to sit next to me in the nursery as I rock/nurse! I am SO excited :)

I also picked up a few books on Amazon.com!
The Womanly Art of Breastfeeding.
Although we took a breastfeeding class, I am still feeling a little unprepared… I have heard this book is just what I need to feel a bit more confident.

Baby 411
I read Pregnancy 411 and LOVED IT! It answered ALL of my questions and was straight to the point. I figured this book would be the same!

If you Give a Mouse a Cookie
So, I needed $2 more to qualify for free shipping… but this was MY FAVORITE book growing up- and it was only $3 used!!! I can’t wait to read it to my son.
There was some other things too… but I forget what I bought. I can barely remember what I ate for breakfast!
Online Shopping = DOUBLE satisfaction. Once when you order, and again when you receive! Yay!

I am LOVING this cute layette by Oilo!… could it be our little man’s coming home outfit?!?!
37 WEEKS = FULL TERM!!!

How Far Along: 37 WEEKS = FULL TERM!!!!!!!! :-)
Size of baby: The Size of a WATERMELON! :-P I love watermelon…

Total Weight Gain: I weighed myself this morning: 28 POUNDS. I feel like I am wearing a fat suit. I feel heavy. And I hope this weight comes off quickly.
Gender: BOY!!!!
Movement: Regular twisting and turning. Not many jabs or kicks anymore. He’s officially run out of room.
Sleep: It was GOOD this week!! I only have to get up once in the night and every time I turn over with my 23904873 pillows, but surprisingly sleep is OK. I probably JUST jinxed myself.
What I miss: Comfortable clothing (nothing is comfortable anymore… since I’ve out grown all my maternity pants). I also miss working out a lot.
Cravings: Nothing! I am so surprised by this… I’m really thirsty now that I think about it.
Symptoms: I got my first Charlie-horse in the middle of the night… but other than that, I’m just tired.
Maternity Clothes: Going to get my nursing bra’s and tanks on Thursday because I have a COUPON. But I’m happy to report I will NOT buy any other maternity clothing. I refuse… which is why I am suffering in my pants sitting at work today.
Best Moment this week: NURSERY IS FINISHED! Big sigh of relief! We definitely feel prepared now. Oh, and I’M FULL TERM which means baby S could come at ANY TIME!!!
xoxo

Lookie what I got for dessert tonight:-) freshly baked cc cookies with cookie dough ice cream. Made with love
36 WEEKS!

36 Weeks! Late by a WEEK. sorry :’(
How Far Along: 36 WEEKS! And guess what? 1CM DIALATED!!! :-) But the doctor did say she thinks it will be a “few more weeks”. Ugh.
Size of baby: A COCONUT!! Is it weird that I can only imagine these foods in my belly and not an actual baby?

Total Weight Gain: hmmmm. last few days have held steady at 26 pounds.
Gender: BOY! My boyfriend…
Movement: All the time. All night. All day. I’m pretty sure he pushes against my spine and launches his body outwards. It’s crazy
Sleep: Ugh.
What I miss: I can’t remember what it’s like to put socks and pants on quickly. I miss sleeping on my belly and snuggling with my hubby. Snuggling just doesn’t happen with a giant belly and 1044 pillows around me.
Cravings: Nothing… except last night I *HAD* to have a meatball sub. :)
Symptoms: I am trying desperately NOT to waddle… but sometimes you just gotta!
Maternity Clothes: Nursing Bras are next on the list :)
Best Moment this week: Hearing the good news from the doctor. Cervex is softening and I am 1 cm dialated. THAT IS PROGRESS!!!! Now please baby come EARLY!!!

xoxo
Update!
So it’s been awhile, but I’m sorry… We’VE BEEN BUSY!!! Here’s a quick update:
I had my 36 1/2 week check up yesterday to find out that I’m already making progress! 1 cm dilated and cervix is softening! I’m SO happy to know that my body is getting ready for labor. I’m also happy that my body knows what to do! I have been praying that we do not have to get induced because I want my little man to pick his OWN birthday (sooner then later, OK buddy?!) jk :) The doctor also said it would “be a few more weeks”…
The nursery is MAGNIFICANT. I am obsessed. I walk in, turn the lights on <sigh> and then walk out at least 10 times a day. It is by far my favorite room in the house. Most of the gifts have been put away, and after our MAJOR trip to Buy Buy Baby last weekend to exchange things we didn’t need for necessities… I am finally feeling prepared. PHOTOS TO COME!! :)
I continue to make lists:
- Hospital Bag necessities
- What BABY S needs when we bring him home
- What MOMMA needs when we come home
- Around the house TO DO list (carpet cleaning!)
We have a couple of weekends left until 40 weeks… so I also am trying to fit some QUALITY time in with hubby… Romantic dinners, Movies, long walks, ROMANCE before our lives are consumed with baby poo and breast milk. I still can’t imagine what life is going to be like, but I know I want these last few weeks to be special!
Speaking of breastmilk… we have our breastfeeding class tonight! Fabyan is SUPER excited…. ha! Me? I am extremely curious… I need some guidance!
Happy almost Friday :)
xoxo
Enjoy every second. There is nothing greater than the gift of being a mom. I am not exaggerating even for a second. It’s the greatest gift that I open up every day. It brings more joy than I could ever have imagined and for 17 years I have been the luckiest person I know with my two beautiful presents. My heart is on explode-mode every day. It doesn’t get old. I am so happy for you to be able to experience it very soon! An email I received today from our Agency managing partner.
